I am an information professional specializing in the intersection of Metadata Strategy, Digital Preservation, and Data Governance. With a Masters in Library & Information Science and a Graduate Certificate in Public Digital Humanities from the University of Iowa, I focus on making complex digital collections both sustainable and accessible.
My work is driven by a fascination with how we categorize and preserve culture. I am a historian aided by modern digital asset management systems striving to bring order to the chaos. I create robust metadata schemas that ensure long-term digital integrity and accessibility.
Archival Systems: Experience with Omeka, Preservica, and digital archival workflows.
Organizational Strategy: Taxonomy development, Dublin Core metadata standards (DCMT), and accessible information architecture.
Beyond the Archives
In my free time, you can usually find me immersed in a good book (or five) or tending to my unsettlingly detailed virtual homestead in Stardew Valley. I find true joy in creating things with my own two hands, be they physical or virtual, so you may also find me crocheting tiny dinosaurs, building miniature houses, or figuring out how to make a paper mache hat that looks like a mushroom (it was Ren Faire season).
